MIKE PORTNOY Says Ex-FATES WARNING Singer Sounds 'Better Than Ever' On Upcoming EP
January 13, 2003DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy spent two days last May recording at the Carriage House in Stamford, Connecticut for the hugely-anticipated solo debut from original FATES WARNING vocalist John Arch, due later in the year through Metal Blade Records.
"I must say that it is soooo great to hear one of my favorite vocalists of all time again!!!," Portnoy wrote on his official web site (www.mikeportnoy.com). "John sounds better than ever!"
Tentatively titled "A Twist Of Fate", the 20-minute EP features additional guest appearances from FATES WARNING guitarist Jim Matheos and FATES WARNING/ARMORED SAINT bassist Joey Vera.
"These songs are awesome and I was able to lay down some smoking drum tracks," Mike said. "John's melodies and harmonies are so incredibly creative and original... He really is one of a kind and it's so great to have him back in action (and I'm honored to be along for the ride!)."
